Group Captain Arya Bhushan Lamba, Vr.C


During the Indo-Pak war in December 1971, Sqn Ldr Arya Bhushan Lamba was the flight commander of a fighter bomber squadron.

On 4th December 1971, he led sorties on Risalwala and Chander airfields, blasting the dispersals. On 5th December, he destroyed a tank and a tank transporter. The next day he destroyed enemy positions near Narowal. On 7th December, he struck twice: once on a troop concentration and later on guns and tank concentration. On 9th December, he blew up a bridge over Ichchogil Canal.

Throughout the operations, he displayed gallantry, leadership and professional skill of a high order.
