Beaded Nunavut Flag Pin

Materials:

11 Safety Pins - 00 size
1 Safety Pin - 1 1/4" size
38 yellow seed beads
22 red seed beads
38 white seed beads
1 blue seed bead

needle nose pliers

Prepare the large safety pin by using the pliers to gently pull apart the coiled end.  (This will allow the smaller pins to be slipped through later.)

Thread the seed beads onto the smaller pins as illustrated in the chart above.  Each column represents one pin.  When placing the beads on the pins, start with row 1 and work down.

When all the beads are in place, gently squeeze the heads of the pins with the pliers to prevent them from accidentally opening.

Hang the beaded pins from the larger pin starting with column 'A' by slipping the large pin through the holes in the coils of the small pins.

When all of the small pins are in place, close the large pin and check that the design is correct.

Twist the small pins around the coil loop of the large pin until they all hang from the non-opening side of the pin.

The large pin can now be opened and used to attach the flag to your hat.
